What goes down, and when
The work behind each round
Rounds 1 and 2 pair a pre-emergent with a post-emergent and fertilizer. The pre-emergent keeps crabgrass and other weed seeds from sprouting as the soil warms; the post-emergent handles what has already come up.
Rounds 3 and 4 bring in the bio-nutrients, along with fertilizer with iron and another post-emergent. Iron deepens the color without pushing soft top growth, and the bio-nutrients feed the soil the roots live in.
Rounds 5 through 7 keep the lawn fed through summer and into fall, with post-emergent where broadleaf weeds show up. Round 6 is the one we call “it’s seeding time!”, because it lines up with the fall window for aeration and overseeding.
Round 8 is lime, in every program, to bring the soil’s pH back where grass wants it. Plus and Premier carry on with round 9, aeration and seeding, and Premier finishes with round 10, the Brown Patch fungicide.
